Scratch Night

Tuesday 11th 7.45pm

CASA Scratch Night is an annual competition that aims to find and support the most promising Latin American theatre makers who are based in the UK. Six companies each present a 10-15 minute work in progress of a new idea to a paying public and a panel of industry experts. At the end of the performance, while the jury retires to determine a winner, the audience give their feedback directly to the artists and we give everyone a free beer, thanks to our sponsors Cusqueña. The jury then return to announce which company or artist has won a grant of up to £5000 to develop their idea into a full-length show to be presented at CASA 2013. Now in its third year, CASA Scratch Night embodies our commitment to supporting new Latin American talent in the UK. Our first winner was Vicky Araico Casas whose Juana In A Million premiered at CASA 2011 and has just enjoyed a critically acclaimed Fringe First-winning run in Edinburgh this August. Last year's winners La Llorona premiere Private Thoughts in Public Spaces in the main festival programme this year.

Tuesday 11th: 7.45pm.
