This year, Nuestra CASA will be joining forces with Aculco Radio to produce a series of Latin American radio plays. A new play will be broadcast each month from May until the start of the CASA Festival this September. We are looking for exciting new plays from Latin American playwrights to match the following criteria:
– Must be no longer than one hour.
– Maximum cast of four. A play may have more than four characters, so long as it is possible for a cast of four to cover all the roles.
– All plays must be in Spanish.
– Due to compatibility issues, the preferred format is PDF. Any plays submitted in other formats will not be considered.
We would like to encourage submissions from emerging playwrights, although submissions by more established artists are of course also welcome.
Selected pieces will be recorded in their original language by a cast of professional actors and receive two radio broadcasts on Aculco Radio before being archived on both the CASA and Aculco websites, where they will be available to the public, free of charge.
All the talent involved will be working for expenses only, but a small fee will be payable if we are successful with our fundraising efforts.
To be considered for our first set of productions, submissions must be made by email to nuestracasa@casafestival.org.uk before 30th March with the subject line ‘NuestraCASARadio’. Because of the volume of applications, it may not be possible to reply to all of them individually. Chosen applicants will be contacted by 30 April at the latest.
