About us.
CASA places latinx, hispanic caribbean and its diasporic arts at the heart of the UK cultural conversation by commissioning new work, curating bold interdisciplinary programmes and fostering community connection whose central goal is to facilitate cultural exchanges between these regions, its diasporas and the U.K.
We have entered a new phase.
CASA was funded in 2007 to address the lack of representation of Latin American arts in the UK. Initially launched as a theatre festival, CASA expanded in 2017 under new leadership and expanded into a cross-art form and multi-art organisation. Over the years, it has evolved into a space for programming, creation, and experimentation.
With our new physical home as an associate company at Brixton House, we now offer a broader and richer range of opportunities for artists and our communities.
Mission:
We showcase the narratives of latinx, hispanic caribbean, and its diasporic communities, championing artistic excellence, and fostering meaningful connections between artists, communities, and audiences, addressing their systemic underrepresentation in the UK’s cultural conversation.
CASA empowers artists from these communities by providing resources, commissioning new work, and curating multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary programmes.
Through tailored artist development, bold programming, and spaces for community engagement, we celebrate the diversity and innovation of latinx, hispanic caribbean, and its diasporic talent in the UK.
Vision:
To be the UK’s leading organisation for Latinx, hispanic caribbean, and its diasporic arts, placing its artistic excellence at the heart of the UK’s cultural conversation.
We are committed to building a sustainable and inclusive model for cultural production that thrives on innovation, diversity, and bold creative expression, inspiring audiences and catalysing social change through the transformative power of art.
