50 Ways to Kill a Slug is a multi-sensory celebration of slugs as the anarchic icon we’ve been waiting for: soft, unruly and disgusting.
Award-winning theatre makers Joana (F*ck You Pay Me, My Uncle is Not Pablo Escobar) and Dre (El Dizzy Beast, Butch Princesa) come together over their love for the slug as the ultimate underdog, creating an ecstatic exploration of radical rest, toxic productivity and belonging.
Turning our attention towards a creature more often treated as a pest, 50 Ways to Kill a Slug asks what might happen if we embraced being slower, softer and less productive – and what the humble slug might teach us about resisting the pressure to constantly perform, produce and belong.

This performance is part of Acts of Looking, the final chapter of Lines of Flight, CASA’s year-round multi-arts programme curated by Gabriela Román González at Brixton House. Across exhibitions, residencies, dance, performance and celebration, Acts of Looking asks what we choose to pay attention to, what remains unseen, and how changing the way we look might change the way we live.

Queer, autistic Venezuelan artist working across live performance, film and multimedia storytelling. Their practice embraces unpredictability, softness and embodied disruption to dismantle normative performance structures. Their neuroqueer approaches value sensory immersion and fragmentary, affective dramaturgies over linear narratives. Works include 50 Ways to Kill a Slug, El Dizzy Beast (Filipa Bragança Award nominee), Butch Princesa (Best Cabaret & Best Artist nominee), Miss Venezuela, and Taylor and Vincent.

Queer, Brazilian-British writer, performer and dramaturg. Her multi-award-winning show Fuck You Pay Me saw sell-out runs across London and the UK. She was the writer in residence for Offie-award-winning smash hit My Uncle is Not Pablo Escobar.
